SOUTH WINDSOR, CT (WFSB) -

A section of Route 30, also known as Ellington Road, has reopened in South Windsor after being closed because of a serious crash.

Police said the road near Pleasant Valley Road was closed for nearly three hours while they investigated the crash.

Police believe the car was traveling west on Pleasant Valley Road early Tuesday morning when it lost control and flipped over in a ditch in a construction area. The car missed hitting a nearby utility pole and landed on its roof in the middle of Route 30.

The driver of the vehicle was flown by Life Star helicopter to Hartford Hospital with unknown injuries.
