WOLCOTT, CT (WFSB) -

The Wolcott Police Department is investigating the theft of multiple chainsaws from a business in town Monday afternoon.

Investigators said the burglary occurred at Wolcott Power Equipment on Wolcott Road around 2:20 p.m.

Police have released several surveillance pictures, which show the unidentified man fleeing the store with two Husqvarna Chain Saws.

The owner chased the man out of the store

The man, who was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, jeans and sneakers at the time of the burglary, ran into "a waiting getaway car," which was white, and headed north on Wolcott Road, where the vehicle almost collided with a tractor-trailer.

Police said the vehicle, which had a stolen license plate, was also used in a burglary at a CVS in Newtown on March 31.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Wolcott Police Department at 203-879-1414.
