HARTFORD, CT (AP) -
A Tolland man who worked as a family practice physician has been sentenced to more than four years in prison for receiving and distributing child pornography.
The top federal prosecutor in Connecticut, David Fein, says Carl Koplin's collection of child pornography was 1 of the largest ever seen in the state.
The 55-year-old Koplin was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Hartford to four years and three months in prison followed by five years of supervised release.
Koplin was arrested in July 2010 when federal agents raided his home. An analysis of his computer and other seized items revealed thousands of images and videos depicting child pornography. He pleaded guilty to one pornography charge in August.
Before his arrest Koplin was working as a doctor in Vernon.
