Four men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a jewelry store in West Hartford last month, police said.

Officers were called to a robbery at the Solid Gold on Kane Street around 8:12 p.m. on March 30.

Employees told police that three men wearing masks, hoods and gloves entered the store and one round was fired into the ceiling.

The suspects stole approximately $60,000 worth of gold chains from Solid Gold, police said.

Police said media reports helped lead to the arrest of Thomas Ibbison, 26, of Norwich, Edward Makara, 34, of Jewitt City, Luis Carlos Burgos, 39, of Norwich and Kenneth Bryant, 37, of Norwich.

While being arrested, police said Ibbison fought with two West Hartford police detectives.

The detectives suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

All four men were charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree larceny, first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery and first-degree conspiracy to commit larceny.

Ibbison was also charged with two counts of assault of public safety personnel.
