TORRINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

Police in Torrington have closed an investigation into alleged sexual assaults that have gripped the northwest Connecticut community for weeks.

In a press release Friday, Lt. Mike Emanuel said the investigation surrounding four football players and two 13-year-old girls is closed.

Emanuel said police made one arrest, charging 21-year-old Julie Casey with delivery of marijuana. Officers learned of the incident, which occurred in February 2012 during the investigation into the alleged assaults involving Edgar Gonzalez and Joan Toribio.

Police said while the information was learned during the investigation, it had nothing to do with the alleged assaults of the 13-year-olds.

Casey was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond with a court date of April 15 at Bantam Superior Court.
