ROCKY HILL, CT (WFSB) -

Rocky Hill police were called to the First Niagara Bank close to 3:45 p.m. Monday for a reported bank robbery. A man handed the bank teller a note, implied he had a weapon and demanded money, according to Rocky Hill police.

Police said they were notified by state troopers at 4:20 p.m. Monday that they had a vehicle pulled over and arrested the man they believed was responsible for the bank robbery.

State troopers pulled the vehicle over near exit 34 on I-91 in Windsor after hearing the car's description broadcast to surrounding police departments, police said.

According to Rocky Hill police, 42-year-old Joseph B. Clower Jr., of Bristol, was arrested and charged with robbery and larceny.

Police said the money that was stolen in the bank robbery was recovered where Clower was arrested.

Clower is believed to be the same person responsible for a bank robbery at the Webster Bank in West Hartford that occurred on April 5, 2013, according to Rocky Hill police.
