A building at the University of Bridgeport was evacuated as a precaution after a suspicious item was found Tuesday night.
According to police, someone reported the item, which was determined to be a toy, being found in an office space that is rented by the school's radio station before 6:30 p.m.
The Connecticut State Police bomb squad was contacted. However, after the item was investigated by firefighters, the bomb squad was canceled.
Emergency service officials were able to contact the owner, who told investigators that the device was harmless.
The investigation lasted about an hour and people were able to return to the building shortly thereafter.
