The drowning of a 38-year-old man at the pool at the Plainfield Town Hall on Tuesday night is being investigated by police.
Police said Glenn A. Gavis of Danielson was found unconscious after he was swimming at the pool with his son and other family members.
Gavis was pulled from the pool by lifeguards, who started CPR until EMS workers arrived at the Town Hall.
Gavis was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pool was closed for a few hours while police investigated the incident.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy on Gavis' body.
