Police are looking for a burglar who stole more than 100 bottles of liquor during five thefts at the same store.
Sgt. Kevin Kilkenny said in each case, the thief threw something through glass at a Berbiglia store just southeast of Troost Avenue and Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard and then spent several minutes loading items into a gym bag.
Besides cognac, whiskey and vodka, the thief also grabbed cigarettes and lottery tickets.
The store was broken into on March 25, 26, 31, April 3 and 8.
"I wish it was more like CSI, where we could get a lot of extra stuff, but unfortunately, there is no evidence on the bricks," Kilkenny said.
Police said the man wore a blue hooded coat with the letter "M'' inside a circle on his back in one of the crimes. Recently, he wore a hooded jacket, either dark gray and light gray, with a white stripe across the back.
The burglar won't be able to cash in on the lottery tickets, however, because they're traceable.
If you have any information about the crime, police ask that you call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
