Former NAU employee pleads guilty in sex case

FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AP) -

A former events coordinator at Northern Arizona University's Walkup Skydome has pleaded guilty to attempted sexual abuse.

Coconino County prosecutors say 34-year-old Richard Francisco Grijalva entered into a plea agreement Tuesday.

They say he faces up to two years in prison at his sentencing, but also is eligible for probation.

Prosecutors say they will wait to see a presentence report before deciding what sentence to seek.

The plea agreement doesn't specifically require Grijalva to register as a sex offender.

Grijalva was arrested after the Dec. 3 incident and stopped working at the university about a week later.

The Arizona Daily Sun says Grijalva was accused of groping a male employee after a meeting at his home where he allegedly supplied alcohol to a group of underage employees.
