PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Mattel's latest Barbie is stirring up some controversy, with critics claiming that the Mexico Barbie is reinforcing negative stereotypes.

The Mexico Barbie wears a bright prink dress with ribbons and comes with her own passport and Chihuahua.

It's triggering a backlash on social media. Some call it stereotyping. Others wonder if Mattel is trying to use the doll to make a statement about immigration.

All the Barbie's in the "Dolls of the World" collection do come with a passport.
