Health officials in New London County are issuing a rabies warning after two cats tested positive this week.
Ledge Light Health District, which serves Groton, East Lyme, Ledyard, New London and Waterford, said a second cat from the Meech Avenue area of Groton tested positive for rabies Saturday.
This comes just days after a cat in the Howard and Bank streets area of New London tested positive.
Officials are warning the public to refrain from feeding or approaching any wild or strange animals. Anyone with questions or concerns can contact LLHD at 860-448-4882.
