The former trial attorney for Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel is due back on the witness stand in Skakel's latest appeal of his 2002 murder conviction.
Lawyer Michael Sherman is expected to continue testifying Wednesday in Rockville Superior Court on the second day of Skakel's appeal trial. Sherman faces accusations that he failed to competently defend Skakel.
Skakel is the 52-year-old nephew of Robert F. Kennedy's widow, Ethel. He's serving 20 years to life in prison for the 1975 golf club bludgeoning of Greenwich neighbor Martha Moxley when they were both 15.
Skakel says Sherman failed to challenge the state's star witness and obtain evidence pointing to other suspects, and did a poor job with jury selection and closing arguments.
Sherman says he did all he could to prevent Skakel's conviction.
