A car jacking suspect was shot and killed by a Michigan State Police trooper just before noon in the Flint area on Wednesday.
Michigan State Police public information officer Lt. Brian Cole said the situation started as a car jacking in Mt. Morris Township.
Police pursued the stolen car and the suspect driving the car refused to stop. The pursuit ended when the suspect crashed at the intersection of Dort Highway and Carpenter Road.
Police said the man exited the car while firing a gun at officers. Troopers returned fire and the man was hit and killed.
No officers were injured.
MLive reports the roads in that area are shut down so police can investigate. Drives in the area are being asked to find alternate routes.
