Mohegan Sun Massachusetts announced Tuesday that it plans to complete a host community agreement with the town of Palmer in July.
Mohegan Sun Massachusetts is planning a world class destination casino resort in Palmer that will create thousands of jobs and bring new economic growth to the region.
The host community agreement, which is required under the Massachusetts casino gaming legislation, establishes the terms and plans for community improvement and is required as part of phase two applications to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
The agreement will also mark a key milestone in advance of an anticipated September vote in Palmer on the Mohegan Sun Massachusetts resort casino project.
"Palmer has been welcoming, supportive and motivated throughout this process," said Mitchell Etess, chief executive of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority. "The host community agreement is important to establishing an effective and cooperative working relationship with the town, and a milestone that will enable us to move forward with a referendum vote."
