A new report released Tuesday ranked the best high schools in the Connecticut.
Each year, U.S. News and World Report compares the best high schools in the country and ranks them based on test scores and how the schools prepare students for college.
According to this year's list, the top five schools in Connecticut are as follows:
Darien High School
Conard High School in West Hartford
Weston High School
Ridgefield High School
Farmington High School
The Connecticut International Baccalaureate Academy in East Hartford was listed at No. 10.
"They strived always to get better and better and better," said grandparent Betsy Fox.
The magnet school accepts students through a lottery system. It has an intensive curriculum, including the option to study either Spanish or Chinese.
"I think it's incredible," said Mark Nystrom, who is a member of the faculty. "I think it reflects the work that the students do, reflects the commitment to the curriculum that we offer, so it's nice to see that recognized."
