Employees of Stop & Shop in Cromwell robbed at gunpoint

CROMWELL, CT (WFSB) -

Two employees of the Stop & Shop on West Street in Cromwell were robbed at gunpoint late Wednesday night.

Police said the pair was walking the parking lot when they were approached by two men armed with handguns.

The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Witnesses said they were seen leaving in a white Pontiac sedan that was parked in the nearby Wendy's parking lot.

The suspects were last seen heading south on Berlin Road towards Middletown, police said.

According to police, the suspects are both described as black men. One of them was between 5'7" and 5'8" tall, heavy set with dark clothing. The other is about 5'11" tall, with a thin build and was also wearing dark clothing.
