NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

The New Haven Police Department arrested a 20-year-old man Monday, who is accused of shooting another man at an apartment complex in October.

Police said they arrested Rashid Johnson, who is accused of killing 26-year-old Christian Anderson Garcia of New Haven inside the Brendan Tower Apartments on Whalley Avenue on Oct. 21.

Officers found Garcia inside the building's hallway and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Johnson was taken to the Saint Raphael's campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital because he had been shot in the leg.

Last week, Johnson was charged with the murder of Garcia.

New information could be released during a press conference Tuesday afternoon.
