NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

The Yale University campus is on alert after threatening graffiti was found in a chemistry lab.

The graffiti threatened arson on May 16 at the Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life.

Yale says it's investigating along with the FBI and New Haven police. The Anti-Defamation League has also been contacted.

The school has added extra security in the area of the Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life.

An open house was held Tuesday night for students and the community to discuss the threatening graffiti.

"This is a very disturbing incident for a community such as ours, in which tolerance of all races, religions and points of view is a fundamental value," Yale University said in a statement.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call Yale police at 203-432-4000 or text them anonymously at 67283 with a message beginning "Yale Tip."
