A beloved restaurant in Stonington, open since 1929, is being forced to close after its lease will not be renewed, according to an article in the Ledyard Patch.
According to the article, restaurant owner Ainslie Turner confirmed that the last day of operations for the Skipper's Dock Restaurant will be Oct. 31.
William Griffin owns the property where the restaurant is located, as well as neighboring Inn at Stonington, the article said.
There is now an online petition that is urging Griffin to reconsider and allow the restaurant to remain open.
