HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Hotel employees were heartbroken to learn their co-worker was shot in the head Wednesday night while trying to sell someone an electronic tablet he had listed on Craigslist.

Shortly after 8 p.m., a man, who was later identified as 40-year-old Felix DeJesus, of Cromwell, was found in a car on Allendale Road suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.

DeJesus, who is a father of two and engaged to be married, was taken to Hartford Hospital where he died around 3:45 a.m. on Thursday.

Eyewitness News learned DeJesus, who has no criminal history, worked at the Comfort Suites in Southington.

Co-workers told Eyewitness News Dejesus worked the front desk the past year, always talked about his two kids and their mom, and had time off scheduled in a few weeks for a family trip to Disney World.

Dejesus' co-workers said they were heartbroken to learn the news of his death, but could not elaborate.

No arrests have been made in the case and that has residents in the area nervous.

"I'm like speechless to say that this happened in my neighborhood," said Joann Giuliano, of Hartford.

Hartford police only told Eyewitness News they have some leads, but cannot elaborate.

Anyone with information is urged to call Hartford police at 860-757-4000 or the tip line at 860-722-TIPS (8477). All calls will be kept confidential.
