We have new information from Wilbraham police on the 7-year-old who drowned Saturday.
The child has been identified as Estefani Alfaro, who was a Springfield resident. He drowned in an in-ground pool.
On Saturday, May 20, around 5:25 p.m., the Wilbraham Police Department received a 911 call from a guest at a Wilbraham residence stating that her daughter was in a pool and she was unable to get to her.
Both the Wilbraham police and fire department were dispatched.
Wilbraham Police Officer Justin Wall dove into the pool and retrieved Estefani from the water and performed CPR at the scene.
She was transported to Bay State Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The accident is being investigated by Wall and the detective unit of the state police.
