A vehicle wound up in the water late Saturday afternoon.
First responders got the call just before 5 p.m. in the area of 200 Locust St.
Dennis Leger, aide to Fire Commissioner Joseph Conant, told CBS 3 that by the time crews arrived the driver had already gotten out of the vehicle, which was over an embankment.
The driver was being treated by paramedics.
Springfield police said the driver did not suffer any life threatening injuries.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
