The search for a brain cancer patient on board the volunteer medical flight that crashed in the woods in central New York has stretched into a third day.

Authorities say the effort Monday to find Frank Amerosa covers a wide area around where the plane went down Friday night in Ephratah, about an hour west of Albany. They say Amerosa is presumed dead.

The daughter of 58-year-old Evelyn Amerosa said her mother was on board the twin-engine aircraft with her husband when it crashed. The daughter of John Campbell of Stamford, ., has said her father was the pilot.

The bodies of Campbell and Evelyn Amerosa have been recovered.

A federal air safety spokesman says work to pull the fuselage from a pond is expected to begin later Monday.
