SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Hi, TV5's news director here. Today we are continuing our coverage of four possible tornados striking Mid-Michigan last night. The communities of Goodrich, Fenton Township, Perry and Beecher are affected.

Several of you wondered why we broke into programming last night for extended periods of time when the tornado outbreak occurred.  We assure you we don't do this recklessly and without regard to the impact it has on your television enjoyment.  We do this because of our station's commitment to the safety of you and your family.

Geographically, these storms may not have been close to you.  Next time, they may be.  Your safety is our top priority when severe weather strikes.
