A Franklin woman says her wedding ring and anniversary band were stolen when two men talked their way into her home.
Willie Hood, 89, is the wife of a former police chief of the Franklin Police Department.
She said after spending the day in her garden, she decided to take a break in her house before she finished planting some lilies.
Hood said moments later she heard a knock on her door and saw two men outside.
"(One of the men) put his arm around me and said, ‘I'm glad to see you. I was just in the neighborhood, and I thought I'd stop by and say hello and wish you a happy Mother's Day,'" said Hood.
The two men then talked their way into Hood's home.
She said the men acted like they wanted to sell her something but instead stole her rings, which symbolized 59 years of marriage.
Hood said she hopes police can catch the men responsible for the thefts and have her rings returned.
Her rings are engraved with her initials "WBH."
Call Franklin police if you can help in the case.
