New London's mayor and his husband have been invited to the White House for a celebration of LGBT Pride month.
Mayor Daryl Finizio and Todd Ledbetter will represent the city on Thursday as it is recognized for its support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
Finizio and Ledbetter had their civil union changed to a marriage when Connecticut legalized Gay marriage in 2008. The mayor tells The Day of New London they hope to have a celebratory wedding ceremony in the future.
The mayor says he's proud to represent the city with Ledbetter and the broader southeastern Connecticut LGBT community.
