NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) -

An event is coming later this month that brings together two summer favorites, ice cream and baseball, for a good cause.

The fifth annual Scooper Sunday event to benefit American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will be held at New Britain Rock Cats Stadium on June 30.

The ice cream tent and stadium gates open at noon, with Rock Cats against the Reading Phillies starting at 1:35 p.m.

People can purchase general admission tickets for $10, which includes a bleacher seat to the game and unlimited access to the ice cream tent.

Reserved tickets are also available for $15, which gets the fan a seat with a back and unlimited access to the ice cream tent.

Tickets can be purchased on game day, but then customers have to purchase a pass to the ice cream tent for $6.

Ice cream will be provided from the following locations:

  • Praline's
  • Friendly's
  • Cold Stone
  • Rita's Ice
  • The Big Dipper in Prospect
  • Turkey Hill
  • Stew Leonard's
  • The Farmer's Cow

Patrons can come and go from the ice cream tent throughout the game until the supply of ice cream runs out.

Anyone who is interested in purchasing tickets can email john.holt@wfsb.com.
