CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

According to the Save The Plain Dealer Facebook page The Plain Dealer management announced during the late afternoon on Wednesday, June 19,  that tonight it will lay off an unspecified number of workers in the paper's advertising, marketing, pre-press, finance, information technology and building service departments.

Workers must go home and wait for a phone calling informing them whether their jobs have been eliminated.

19 Action News has reached out to Terry Egger, the president of The Plain Dealer, but he was unavailable for a comment.
