Family members said a deadly Bristol stabbing all started when a man went next door to ask his neighbors to turn down their music.
Now police said they arrested a man in connection with the incident with that stabbing.
Family members gathered Friday to console one another next to where police continued to gather information on the deadly stabbing. The family members said he was a hard working family man, and all he wanted to do after he got home from work was have a good night sleep.
Emotions were running high on Lincoln Street, off Route 6, where the married father was killed.
"Somebody lost their life," neighbor Justin Bidwell said. "Somebody lost their father, a husband, it's horrible."
Family members and police identified the victim as 36-year-old Jerry Duncan.
Thursday night they said he went next door to ask his neighbors to turn down music that was too loud.
That's when he was stabbed after there was an altercation between Duncan and Jeffrey Hall, 43, of Bristol.
Hall was later arrested with incident and charged with murder. He is being held on $1.5 million bond and is expected to be arraigned at Bristol Superior Court on Monday.
Even neighbors down the street said the music was loud and it woke them up.
"I only heard it for a few minutes," Bidwell said. "I heard it for a few minutes and then it went off and sounded like people were having a good time."
Police said it was a birthday party of about six people. They were initially called to the home for a disturbance, but when they arrived they said they found Duncan suffering from stab wounds and rushed him to a local hospital where he later died.
David Connelly lives in the same multifamily home as Duncan and said he never expected anything violent from the next door neighbors.
"They get a little loud, but that's about it," he said.
