Late Saturday night, a new poll was released that may give us some insight on how the upcoming U.S. Senate special election will play out.
According to the Western New England University Polling Institute, Democrat Ed Markey holds an 8-point lead over Republican Gabriel Gomez.
The breakdown shows the Congressman with 49 percent of likely voters to Gomez's 41 percent.
The poll also shows that 9 percent of the 566 likely voters remained undecided in the contest.
The WNEU poll is sponsored by CBS 3 Springfield and our media partner Mass Live and The Republican.
