Charlotte Giltner knows her way around the kitchen.
She's hoping her experience and expertise will land her a spot in the finals for this year's Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest.
The Mesa woman was recently named one of 60 semifinalists in the 46th annual Pillsbury Bake-Off.
"Somebody has to win," said Glitner. "Why not me?"
Giltner's entry is "Red, White and Blue Dessert Tacos."
The dish includes Pillsbury biscuits rolled out into a circle, then filled with strawberries, blueberries and fresh whipped cream.
"They're very yummy," said Giltner. "The were created as a little nod to America and my husband, who is a disabled veteran."
Giltner said that the $1 million grand prize would make a huge difference in her family's lives, especially with ever growing medical bills.
This year's Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest is different from year's past, as America is being asked to vote for its favorite semi-finalists.
The top 100 vote-getters will advance to the finals, Nov. 10-12 in Las Vegas.
