PARADISE VALLEY, AZ (CBS5) -

Friends and family of fallen Phoenix firefighter Brad Harper held a golf tournament in his honor on Monday.

The Brad Harper Memorial Golf Tournament took place at Stonecreek Golf Club in Paradise Valley.

Harper died after he was crushed between two fire vehicles at a mulch fire May 18. He is survived by his wife, Lena.

Other firefighters organized the event to raise money for Harper's family. They hope it becomes a yearly tradition.

"We just thought it was right thing to do to remember our fallen brother," said firefighter Robert Romero.

Donations to help the family are being accepted until the end of the week though the golf course's pro shop.

"We do a lot of charity events out here to raise money," said Stonecreek Golf Club General Manager Jason Kronholm. "To have a tournament come together in two weeks is unbelievable."

The phone number is 602-953-9111.
