Fatal accident leads to manslaughter charge

NEW HAVEN, CT (AP) -

A 22-year-old New Haven woman has been charged with manslaughter in an April accident after police determined she was driving more than 50 mph over the speed limit.

Police say they arrested Antwuaniece Robinson after getting data from her car's computer that showed she was driving 78 mph when her car collided with one being driven by Carolina Chicas-Sabatino on April 19 at the intersection of Goffe Terrace and Ella Grasso Boulevard.

Chicas-Sabation suffered fatal injuries in the crash.

Robinson told police she had been fleeing from a man who pointed a gun on her outside a nightclub.

She was being held Tuesday in lieu of $300,000 bond on charges that also include reckless driving and operating an unregistered vehicle. It was not clear if she has hired an attorney.
