FARMINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

A body found in Farmington River Tuesday night has been identified as an East Hartford man, who went missing about a week ago after falling in the water while tubing with friends.

The body of Nasir Alam was discovered by a passerby along the Farmington River in back of Tunxis Mead Park in Farmington around 6:30 p.m.

Alam went missing in the Farmington River on June 18 while tubing with a group of people.

Investigators said seven people went tubing on the river in the area of Route 4 in Farmington and Route 179 in Burlington just before 4 p.m. Six were pulled out of the water; however, Alam was not.

After the Farmington Fire and Tunxis Hose fire departments recovered the body, it was taken to office of the chief medical examiner in Farmington where they positively identified the body.
