Woman connected to group home abuse has case continued
HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -
A woman charged in connection with disturbing allegations of abuse at an East Hartford group home was expected in court Monday, but her case has been continued to a later date.
Stephanie Jones, the assistant manager at Options Unlimited, was charged in connection with the case. Investigators said they believe Jones was aware of what was taking place and had video recordings of the abuse at her home.
Jones is the second person arrested in connection with the case.
The investigation was launched last year when video was sent to Channel 3 Eyewitness News and police that showed a woman abusing a resident at the group home.
The employee that was captured on video was identified as Angelica Rivera, and she was arrested and charged in connection with the abuse July 12.
