Cities across Metro Atlanta are hoping that the expected rain won't dampen the Fourth of July festivities that they have planned. If the weather allows, there will be some opportunities to view fireworks. Many cities have already canceled their shows.

For more than half a century, Lenox Square has celebrated stars and stripes in grand tradition with activities for the entire family. Presented by The Atlantan, this year's Legendary Fourth of July at Lenox Square activities will include musical entertainment, food concessions and the largest fireworks display in the Southeast. This year Lenox Square will host its inaugural talent search, 'Atlanta's Next Legend' where the crowned winner will perform in front of crowds filled with family and friends.
Spend 4th of July with the Braves! The Atlanta Braves take on the Miami Marlins this Fourth of July at Turner Field. Stay after the game and enjoy the best fireworks display in the southeast. The All-American Fireworks Spectacular will feature incredible fireworks displays choreographed to patriotic music!
Centennial Olympic Park
Come celebrate Centennial Olympic Park's 4th of July Celebration. Enjoy a night of fun and entertainment for the entire family, including downtown Atlanta's best fireworks display. Park gates open at 6 p.m. and fireworks start at approximately 9:40 p.m. The finale of the evening is Centennial Olympic Park's Fireworks Spectacular, Atlanta's best fireworks display synchronized to a special selection of patriotic and popular music.
Due to possible inclement weather, our fireworks display has been postponed to Saturday evening, July 6. Coca-Cola July 4th Fest and exclusive ride times have also been postponed to Saturday.
The City of Alpharetta's July 4th traditional fireworks display will go on as planned tomorrow night in spite of damp weather forecasts. Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Director Mike Perry said planned park activities including performances by the Alpharetta City Band and Serious Business will be canceled. Additionally, food vendors that had been invited to the event will be given the option of backing out of their participation agreements.
Due to threat of rain, East Point's July 4th festival, Salute to the Red, White & Blue, has been postponed to Saturday July 6th, 5 P.M. until 11 P.M. All day fun, food & music. Fireworks begin at 9:30 P.M.
Mall of Georgia
For over a decade, Mall of Georgia has celebrated Independence Day with family-friendly festivities, musical entertainment, food concessions and the largest fireworks display in the county! This year is no different. Preparations are under way for Gwinnett's grandest event of the summer – The 11th Annual Fabulous Fourth Spectacular at Mall of Georgia, presented by Team Toyota Mall of Georgia and the Gwinnett Daily Post.
As part of its Movies Under the Stars series, Mall of Georgia also offers a FREE post-fireworks movie screening on an impressive 55-foot screen. This year's featured flick is Playing for Keeps, so spectators are invited to bring a blanket or a lawn chair and settle in for the evening.
Celebrate Independence Day at Coolray Field and get some patriotic thundersticks at the Gwinnett Braves vs Charlotte Knights game! After the game, light up the night with a fantastic fireworks display.

The Fireworks and Concert scheduled in the City of Snellville for July 4th has been canceled. This was a decision made by the Snellville Tourism and Trade Board, as organizers of this event.
Duluth Celebrates America is canceled for tonight. Unfortunately Mother Nature is not cooperating. The fireworks will be rescheduled to follow our Duluth Fall Festival concert featuring Rupert's Orchestra on September 14th.
With severe weather conditions forecast for Marietta Thursday, July 4, city staff has canceled the 4th of July parade and evening fireworks to ensure the safety of spectators and participants. The city will be working on alternative dates for the fireworks display.
Due to the forecasted weather conditions, the city of Acworth is rescheduling its annual Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks to Friday, July 19. Festivities will begin at 5:00 p.m. on July 19 with the music of the "Paul Hand Band, followed by a special tribute to the members of our Armed Forces at 7:45 p.m., the band "Flashback" at 8:00 p.m., and fireworks at dark. Parking will be available in Historic Downtown Acworth and shuttles will take visitors to the event.
Powder Springs' 18th Annual Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks, scheduled for July 4th, is being postponed due to the adverse weather conditions already occurring and forecasted for Friday.

Decorate your wagon, ride your bike, skate, or walk in Decatur's July 4th Pied Piper Parade. Everyone can join the neighborhood and organization floats before settling in a the square for the fireworks, which begin about 9 p.m. Parade line-up is at the First Baptist Church of Decatur at 5:30 p.m. Parade begins at 6 p.m. and ends at the Community Bandstand on the square, where a concert by the Callanwolde Concert Band, begins at 7 p.m.
Due to the weather predicted for the 4th of July, the City has made the decision to postpone the fireworks display until Saturday, August 31st. The 4th of July Parade will be held as planned with the Parade line-up beginning at 9:15AM at Avondale High School. The Parade will begin at 10:00AM, proceeding up Clarendon Avenue to the Clock Tower.
The City of Chamblee has decided to postpone its July 4th fireworks and festivities in Keswick Park until Sunday, July 7th. This decision was made in consideration of the gloomy and wet weather forecast and out of an abundance of caution.

Join us on July 6, 2013 to celebrate Independence Day family-style in Dahlonega on the historic town square. Do you remember being a child and what the 4th of July meant –hot dogs, watermelon, parades, flags waving and fun with family and friends while you waited until it got dark enough for the fireworks? Then you sat watching the skies with anticipation as you heard the swoosh of the rocket and the ooohs and ahhhs at the burst of light and sparkles. Because of the 4th of July Family Day Celebration, that is what still happens in Dahlonega. The day is filled with fun activities – a pet parade, a Patriotic Ceremony on the lawn of the Gold Museum, a watermelon cutting by The Dahlonega Nugget, an antique auto show, and musicians filling the square with diverse sounds of bluegrass, folk and country music. The Independence Day Parade through the historic square begins around 5pm and ends just in time to find a spot on the nearby drill field of the University of North Georgia to await the fireworks.
Atlanta Motor Speedway
The bright and spectacular glare of fireworks will light up the sky on Thursday, July 4th at Atlanta Motor Speedway's Thursday Thunder with the Papa John's Pizza Fireworks Extravaganza. The largest Independence Day fireworks display on Atlanta's Southside will take place following the final Thursday Thunder feature race, after 9 p.m. Fans with Thursday Thunder tickets will have a prime, unobstructed view to watch both the fireworks and a night of thrilling short track racing among legends and bandolero cars from the grandstands at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
The fireworks display originally scheduled for July 4 at Laurel Park has been postponed due to inclement weather. The event, which benefits the American Legion Paul E. Bolding Post 7, has been rescheduled for Labor Day.
The City of Porterdale in Newton County has postponed its parade and fireworks until Saturday.

The Fireworks at the VPlex event that was scheduled for Wednesday, July 3rd has been canceled due to the threat of severe weather and the potential of lightning and high winds associated with predicted storms.

The Helen Mayor and City Commission voted to postpone the city's fireworks extravaganza from this Thursday, July 4, to Saturday, Aug. 17, to coincide with the city's centennial celebration.
The Newnan Rotary Club's Independence Day fireworks show at Newnan High School has been postponed due to a forecast of heavy rains on July 4. The fireworks show has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 13. The celebration will begin that day at 6:00 p.m., with live music, and will conclude with the annual fireworks show at nightfall.
