GRANBY, CT (WFSB) -

Police are investigating after a 19-year-old man from Massachusetts fell at Enders State Park in Granby on Tuesday evening.

The man, identified as Tyler J. Santos of Springfield, slipped and fell while walking near the waterfall around 6 p.m., Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection officials said.

Simsbury firefighters' High Angle Rescue Unit were used to help with the rescue.

Life Star was called to the scene, and the man was taken to Hartford Hospital. His condition was unknown as of Wednesday afternoon.

Rescuers were taken to the hospital due to heat exhaustion.

A 15-year-old girl from Marlborough fell 15 to 20 feet down a waterfall at Enders State Park on June 1.

Crews used ropes and rescue baskets to get Amanda Monington to a waiting Life Star medical helicopter, which took her to Hartford Hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Last month, DEEP officials said they were reviewing safety procedures after the teen died.

"As far as changes go, we are looking at all of the procedures that we have in place there to see if improvements need to be made," DEEP officials said in a statement.

Tuesday's incident remains under by DEEP.

"For 25 years I've seen them going by my house all the time and last night was really the largest crowd I ever seen," said one resident, who wished to be only identified as Margaret.

Margaret said she doesn't think that's good enough.

"That's avoiding the issue," she said.

Margaret said she is hoping even just adding signs will help make people aware.
