BRISTOL, CT (WFSB) -
A big budget Hollywood movie is starting to film in Connecticut, and Monday could be your chance to land a role in the production.
Crews started filming at Lake Compounce in Bristol for the movie, starring Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton.
Scenes are being filmed onThe Wave Swinger and Twister while the park is open, and guests riding those specific rides during the filming could make it to the big screen - in the background.
"When we were approached by Castle Rock Entertainment, we were excited to be a part of the filmmaking process, and are looking forward to bringing a little bit of Hollywood to Bristol," Lake Compounce Marketing Director Sara Frias said.
Film crews spent most of the day at the park, and for folks coming to ride the rides, there's a chance they'll be making a cameo in the upcoming film.
"This is a unique experience to see them actually set up all of the equipment and security and keeping people back," said Bill Hook, who was visiting the park Monday.
For those hoping to catch a glimpse of some of the stars, they didn't leave disappointed.
"There are actually celebrities in Connecticut," said Stephanie Lukaszewski. "I thought that would never happen."
Bristol isn't the only local spot featured in the flick. Shoots are also happening in Southport and Bridgeport.
The film is scheduled to shoot through November of this year. It'll come out in theaters in 2014.
