State lawmakers are expected to provide an update Monday afternoon on the state assistance program for owners of damaged, sinking homes in the Westville section of the city.
State Sen. Toni Harp and Rep. Pat Dillon will be joined by city officials, financial experts and affected homeowners at the news conference, which is expected to begin at 5 p.m. on Beverly Road.
Both Harp and Dillon initiated a state program that would make $1.5 million available to property owners within the designated area whose homes have been damaged because of sinking or shifting conditions.
The lawmakers and other officials will also describe the process through which the affected homeowners can apply for assistance.
