FAIRFIELD, CT (WFSB) -

Fairfield police have issued two Silver Alerts for a pair of missing sisters who were last seen Tuesday night.

According to police, Carmen Cotto, 16, and her 14-year-old sister, Angelica Cotto, refused to come home after an argument over a family pet.

The teenagers were last seen at State Street and Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport at about 10:30 p.m. Police believe the teenagers took a train to Waterbury to visit a friend.

The teenagers have talked with their Wednesday afternoon.

No foul play is suspected and police said they will continue to help the parents with locating their daughters.

Carmen is described as a white female, about 5'5" tall and 165 pounds with hazel eyes. She has brown hair with her bangs dyed red. She also has a burn scar on her right arm. Carmen was last seen wearing a blue dress and a black silk-like jacket.

Angelica is about 5' tall and 125 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She also has a red streak in the back of her hair. She was last seen wearing blue jean shorts and a black belly shirt.

Anyone with information into their whereabouts is asked to contact the Fairfield Police Department at 203-254-4800.
