PD: Man arrested in connection with Southington car break-ins

SOUTHINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

Southington police said they have arrested a 18-year-old man in connection with a series of car break-ins in town this month.

Austin Baker, 18, is accused of breaking into "several" motor vehicles and a home on Panorama, Blue Hills and Rockwood drives on July 1.

Police said Baker damaged property and gave a false statement when he was interviewed by officers.

Baker was charged with the following crimes:

  • First-degree burglary
  • Third-degree burglary (six counts)
  • Fifth-degree larceny
  • Sixth-degree larceny (five counts)
  • Stealing a firearm
  • Carrying a pistol without a permit
  • Third-degree criminal mischief
  • Credit card theft
  • Second-degree false statement 

Baker was arraigned at Bristol Superior Court on Tuesday and his next court appearance is on Aug. 16.

He is being held on a $10,000 bond.
