Some drivers are upset after pumping the wrong fuel into their cars at a gas station in Griswold on Wednesday.
Managers of the Petro-Max Convenience Plaza confirmed to Eyewitness News that a fuel delivery driver inadvertently pumped diesel fuel into the underground super gas tank and super gas into the diesel storage tank on Tuesday night.
This mix-up resulted in several customers who unknowingly filled their tanks with the wrong fuel, which caused engine failure.
The insurance company of the gas station will pay for the repairs of the affected customers. Bill Przylucki, a mechanic, told Eyewitness News that the repair isn't a big job, just an inconvenience for the customers involved.
"It could be two to three hours worth of work to do it out," said Przylucki. "It's a little more time consuming to go from cleaning out gasoline from a diesel than it is a diesel out of a gasoline car."
Federated Insurance, the company handling the claims, would not comment for the story.
