A Dry Tuesday... Hard To Believe!

High pressure is building in from the north, and it's helping to keep storms from really blossoming over the western Carolinas and northeast GA today.  The rain that is pushing toward us is diminishing as it encounters a less favorable environment.  That being said, we'll have about a 30% chance of storms through this evening.

High pressure will be strong enough Tuesday that we can bump our rain chance down to just a meager 20%!  It will be a more "typical" summer say around here with highs in the low 90s for the Upstate and isolated pop-up storms during the late afternoon and evening.

High pressure weakens later in the week, so we'll bring rain chances back up to 30-40%, but no day looks like a washout at this point!  This is great news, since so many areas need a stretch of drier days to let the soil recover and become "unsaturated" or less full of water!

For July we've seen 11.25" of rain at GSP and 10.23" at AVL!  We are now over 18" ahead for the year at GSP and over 23" ahead for the mountains!
