HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

Three people were injured after a porch included part of the roof collapsed at a three-story home in Hartford Friday afternoon.

Two men fell from three stories down from the roof of a home in the 600 block of Garden Street around 3 p.m., police said.

The men were working on the porch at the time of collapse, fire officials said.

Both of the men were trapped under debris for a brief period of time.

Both men were hurt and were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  A person living at the home also had minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

"I heard what was a boom," said witness Rudy Collins. "And all of sudden I saw the ambulance."

The fire marshal and Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating into what, if any, permits were taken out for the work and what safety procedures were taken.
