Franklin police met with dozens of young bike riders Friday to help them learn the rules of the road.
The Franklin Police Department teamed up with The Gardner School for bicycle safety day. It's all to teach the students how to have fun and be safer on two wheels.
Officers say families can take basic steps to make sure their students have a safe summer.
"Things as simple as having a child put on their helmet, or have reflective clothing on when they're riding at night, these are things that are very important and they're pretty easy to implement when riding bicycles," said Officer Ryan Schuman.
About 100 students took part Friday, which was the fourth year the school has hosted the safety event.
