A 54-year-old Connecticut man has died after crashing his motorcycle during a charity dirt bike ride in Rhode Island.
Department of Environmental Management spokeswoman Gail Mastrati says the crash occurred in the Big River Management area in West Greenwich at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday and involved just one motorcycle.
The name of the rider, who was from Waterford, Conn., has not been released.
Attempts to revive him at the scene failed.
Mastrati says the charity event was being held by the Rhody Rovers, a recreational club for off-road riders.
