Construction on a pedestrian bridge will require the closure of the Loop 101 Price Freeway between Ray Road and the Loop 202 Santan Freeway in Chandler this weekend.
Three sections of the steel pedestrian bridge over Loop 101 will be lifted into place by cranes, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Loop 101 will be closed from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, according to ADOT. Both Loop 202 ramps to northbound Loop 101 and the southbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Warner Road also will be closed.
Traffic will be diverted onto the Price Freeway frontage roads and traffic will be able to connect to Loop 101 and Loop 202 at the Price Road intersection with the Santan Freeway, according to ADOT.
The $3.6 million project to install the Galveston Street Pedestrian Bridge is scheduled for completion in November. ADOT is managing construction of the bridge on behalf of the city of Chandler, according to ADOT.
