Amtrak train makes emergency stop in Springfield

Posted: Updated:

A small trash fire forced an Amtrak passenger train to make an emergency stop at Springfield's Lyman Street station Tuesday night.

Springfield firefighters were at the station before the train arrived a little after 8 P.M.

The fire was out by the time the train pulled into the station.

Firefighters don't believe any damage was done.

The train then left the station about ten minutes after it had pulled in.

No word on where the train was headed.
