VERNON, CT (WFSB) -

The Vernon Police Department announced Friday that it made a second arrest in a bank robbery investigation launched in May.

James Costello, 37, of New Jersey, was arrested Thursday for his connection in the May 25 robbery of the People's Bank on Talcottville Road.

Police previously arrested Arthur Allyn, 32, of New Jersey.

Allyn was extradited fro New Jersey on July 17.

Costello was allegedly the getaway driver, police said.

Allyn allegedly robbed the bank by giving the teller a note demanding money. No one was injured during the robbery and he was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of money.

During the investigation police said they were able to track down the vehicle used in the robbery and connected it to both men.

Costello is charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny.

Police said the investigation is closed and no further arrests are expected.
